I love Spotify (I've been a subscriber for well over a year, just adding my wife at Christmas), but this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I have an e-mail out to customer support but I have a feeling it will do no good. So now it's either split our accounts for 4 months, paying $10/mo for my wife and getting me 4 months free (which would cost us an extra $20), or not using the cards at all. Reading elsewhere, it seems when you buy them you just get credit per month on a normal account. I have $40 worth of giftcards so instead of 2 months paid + $5 for the third month, I'm sitting on useless giftcards because apparently they don't work on Family Plans. I have my wife and I on a Family Plan at $15/mo. I assumed when you bought a giftcard, they would just apply that amount to your account and deduct it monthly until you ran out, and charge the difference (if there was one) to your credit card. One of my Christmas gifts this year was a Spotify giftcard.
